Darren Allman


Darren Allman is a husband of 31 years, father of three children, and a leader in the coaching profession. He currently serves as an advisor for Globe Life-Family Heritage Division. Coach Allman enjoyed a stellar 31-year coaching career in Texas. 

He coached the defensive backs at Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) before serving as Defensive Coordinator at Brownwood, Temple, and Dallas Highland Park. Allman became the Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach at Odessa Permian – leading teams to two undefeated regular seasons and three straight regional final appearances. He later became the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Austin Westlake, where he led the Chaps to the State Finals, State Semi-Finals, and four District Championships. He was named Executive Director of Athletics at Southlake Carroll in 2015 and helped guide the Carroll programs to a Lone Star Cup Championship. Allman returned to the sidelines in 2019 as Athletic Director/Head Football Coach in Nacogdoches – leading teams to two playoff appearances and overseeing several athletic facility improvements. In 2009, he was selected to coach the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) All-Stars, and in 2010 he was selected to coach Team USA vs. The World. 

Coach Allman has mentored over 30 coaches from his staff who have become highly successful Athletic Directors, Head Football Coaches, and Coordinators. He is often called upon by coaches across Texas and beyond for advice on career advancement, program organization, and defensive schemes. He is the Owner/Director of the Capital of Texas Football Clinic and the Guadalupe Football Summit. 

Allman is a graduate of Odessa Permian High School where he won a State Championship and played for another. He earned his degree at Hardin-Simmons University. At HSU, he was a three-time captain and All-American defensive back. For his efforts, he was inducted into the Hardin-Simmons University Athletic Hall of Fame.
